Fiat is launching a One Day Driver Development Course.
The course is aimed squarely at small businesses to help them with duty of care issues.
The One Day Driver Development Course has been developed in conjunction with the Driving Instructors Association.
It puts drivers into a car with a trained instructor. Fiat says this may be the first time they have been monitored since passing their test.
“The aim of this programme is to educate smaller companies of the importance of looking after their drivers’ health and safety at the wheel of their company vehicle,” commented Adam Pumfrey, fleet and remarketing director, Fiat.
“It gives them an opportunity to establish the quality of their drivers and then act on any issues that may arise.”
The course programme includes presentation on safer and fuel-efficient driving; hazard perception; personal and vehicle security; and on-road training, including driving assessments.
Fiat Fleet Services is offering the One Day Driver Development Course with the purchase of a Fiat car.
Fiat says it will increasingly look to serve the small business market better.
Fiat has instigated a new Dealer Fleet Specialist programme, aimed at smaller companies that run handfuls of business cars or vans.
