Europcar adds hybrid to Model Choice service

Rental business adds Hyundai IONIQ to its Model Choice service, which enables customers to book a specific model, not just a vehicle group.

EUROPCAR Mobility Group UK is continuing to focus on reducing the overall emissions for its fleet, with the addition of Hyundai’s IONIQ Hybrid.

It now has 300 units available as part of the Europcar Model Choice service, which enables customers to book a specific model, not just a vehicle group.

The cars are available from Europcar locations at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports as well as Edinburgh and Manchester airports and central London locations (Marble Arch, Victoria and Kings Cross), the Hyundai IONIQ is ideal for business and leisure travellers.

Gary Smith, Managing Director, Europcar Mobility Group UK, said: “The IONIQ combines cutting edge motoring innovation with contemporary styling and design to deliver a vehicle, giving travellers a chance to experience the benefits of the latest hybrid technology.

“We continue to invest in the very best models on the market today and the Hyundai IONIQ will be available at key locations to meet the needs of busy travellers.”

Michael Stewart, Director of Fleet, Hyundai Motor UK, added: “As the global car market continues its move towards electrification, many customers are still uncertain of the technology, mainly because of relative inexperience.

“With Europcar’s Model Choice, customers have the opportunity to try hybrid technology for a longer period than they may otherwise be able to and fully understand how easily hybrid technology can be adopted and help to reduce vehicle emissions.”
