IF MINI can’t sell a shed load of these to company car drivers then they must be doing something wrong.
Which I doubt.
The MINI has been a great success story so far: aspirational, fun, cheap to run and, crucially, like an original Mini to drive (well, the go-kart handling – the ride is streets ahead!).
But for those company car drivers in small businesses the MINI has always been lacking something.
An extra set of doors.
Whether that’s for additional practicality for business or, perhaps, for an expanding family, the MINI Hatch has not offered the next step up. Until now.
With an amazingly economical engine – over 78mpg claimed! – and CO2 emissions of just 95g/km, the MINI Cooper D Hatch 5dr costs very little to run. Company car tax starts from just £54.25 for a 20% tax payer.
But it’s still great fun to drive – as our review testifies (read MINI Cooper D five-door: Practical, frugal, still fun) – and the car can sprint to 62mph in sub 10 seconds.
For small businesses wanting a premium company car, the MINI Cooper D Hatch 5dr also delivers. It qualifies for 100% first year capital allowances if you want to buy and car leasing prices start from £169.
For both the company car driver and the business car manager what’s not to like?
