NISSAN is fitting the Juke crossover with an updated 1.5-litre diesel engine that achieves a tax-friendly 109g/km instead of the previous 124g/km. Company car drivers will save a welcome 3 percent on their company car tax rate.

Combined fuel consumption improves to 67.3 mpg.

The revised car should be more drivable too, thanks to a boost in torque from 240Nm to 260Nm.

Among the tweaks that have been made are an updated turbocharger and more precise injection nozzles which permit better combustion.

Exhaust gas recirculation helps the updated engine meet the tough new Euro6 emissions regulations and gear ratios have been altered too.

Another economy aid is the Nissan Dynamic Control system which allows drivers to choose between Eco, Normal and Sport settings which modifies accelerator pedal sensitivity, maximum torque and other parameters in order to maximise economy when required.

“As well as the obvious advantages of lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency, the higher levels of torque from the new engine means greater flexibility and more refined cruising as well enhanced in-gear performance around town,” said Paul Wilcox, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing Nissan in Europe.
