CAR leasing specialist Cars on Demand has won a prestigious business award recognising how it has transformed its product to become a leader in its market.

Cars on Demand, based at Trinity Business Park in Wakefield, triumphed in the Transformation category of the 2015 BiYInspired awards, run by Business in Yorkshire.

Now in their second year, the awards were created in 2014 by Business in Yorkshire and Leeds-based award writing company Awards Writers to recognise small and medium size businesses across the region.

This year’s shortlist saw businesses from across the region compete across eight categories covering everything from start-ups to well-established businesses and customer service – and was decided by a panel of judges including Business in Yorkshire founder and chair of judges Darren Shaw.

The award win recognises how the company – which coordinates a fleet of over 600 vehicles across the UK – has successfully established a national presence following the decision to franchise its operation in 2011 to capitalise on the growing demand for short term vehicle leasing across the UK.

The success of the franchise saw the business enjoy a 23% increase in new leasing contracts by the end of FY2014/15, with a turnover of £5million when combined with its franchised branches.

Cars on Demand – which launched in 2003 a specialises in short-term car leasing starting from 28 days – now has eight depots across the UK including Horsham, Silverstone, Exeter, London, Aberdeen and Belfast. The company also privately leases a fleet of five supercars worth in excess of £1.2million.

Cars on Demand owner director Paul Brown commented: “We are thrilled to have picked up this award as it recognises the hard work and dedication that the team have put in to transforming our service offering and evolving the Cars on Demand brand into a nationally recognised company.”

The winners were announced at a special awards lunch held at The Queens Hotel, Leeds, on Friday.
