A genuine convertible, comfortable and civilised with the top up or down, and with BMW’s definitive business first diesel to keep costs under control

Business Car Manager verdict

If you like convertibles but don’t want any of the associated inconvenience, this could be the answer.

It has ample room for four adults to travel in comfort, and a boot big enough for their weekend luggage. The roof can be operated on the move, and BMW has a clever solution for the problem of easy boot loading when the roof is down.

It is really good to drive, and convertibles don’t come much more user-friendly than this one.

To top it off, the boot is pretty generous, especially with the roof up

What about the 4 Series Coupe?
