Best sub-100g/km business cars
For company car tax it's the future - cars with less CO2, and our category is sub-100g/km

Author: Sam Hardy

Winner: Kia Rio 1.1 EcoDynamics

Any Kia Rio is a good car – but the EcoDynamics version is a champion. It returns a staggering 88mpg and emits just 85g/km of CO2 thanks to a punchy and characterful 1.1-litre three-cylinder diesel engine. As well as those cheap running costs, the Rio boasts an ownership experience that is anything but. This is a compact hatchback that looks just as smart as its Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa rivals – while inside there’s plenty of space, the cabin is really well made and there’s lots of equipment. It’s precise to drive too. You certainly don’t feel like second-class citizen in a Rio; it’s a genuine class-beater.

Best sub-100g/km business car: Kia Rio 1.1 EcoDynamics
Great fun and cheap to run, but without the cheap car feeling - winner of our Best sub-100g/km business car award

Commended: MINI One D

On the surface there’s nothing new about this MINI, but with a 1.6-litre diesel that does 74mpg and 99g/km, it’s a fun and cheap to run package.

Commended: Audi A1 1.6 TDI

The A1 distills all of Audi’s values into a compact package and the 74mpg diesel ticks all the right business boxes.

Commended: VW Golf Bluemotion

Road tax-free and almost 75mpg wrapped up in a hatch that drives and feels like any other Golf, the Bluemotion requires no company car compromises.
