Audi TTS 2.0-litre TFSI Coupe
The Audi TTS is the quickest of all TT models while keeping emissions and economy at respectable levels

Audi TTS 2.0-litre TFSI Coupe review

What is it?

The fastest TT Coupe yet, with 310PS version of the 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine and a choice of manual and S-Tronic automatic transmissions.

What’s hot?

  • The 310PS 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, that can reel off the 0-62mph dash in just 4.6 seconds, has a licence-losing limited 155mph top speed. However, the quickest TT still has we think decent emissions and economy of 164g/km and 39.8mpg considering the performance.
  • The TTS is also a great drive. The steering is sharp and responsive, there’s no body roll and with the Quattro four-wheel drive, grip is limitless.
  • Considering the TTS rolls on 19-inch alloy wheels, the ride is still surprisingly comfortable. Only when in the Dynamic mode of the ‘Drive Select’ suspension system does it verge on the uncomfortable.
  • As the TT is such an iconic shape, the TTS’s styling is more evolutionary than revolutionary. But with the TTS’s distinctive 19-inch alloys, plus the all-LED front and rear lights, it looks every inch the contemporary sports car.
  • The new TT, in our opinion has one of the best interiors available of any car on sale. However, it’s not going to scare off the typical Audi buyer with the usual high level of quality and details expected from this premium brand. The adoption of Audi’s virtual cockpit makes for an even more stylish, button-free design, that’s intuitive and easy to live with. Plus, the TTS get’s its own bespoke instruments, that give a sportier feel.
  • The 164g/km CO2 emissions mean the Audi TTS 2.0-litre TFSI falls into the 25% company car tax band for 2014/15.
