Audi Q8 SUV

  • Q8 is the new Audi SUV range-topper
  • Basically a sportier version of the Q7
  • New, more extreme design language could filter down to other Audi SUV models
  • On sale in 2018

THINK that the Q7 is as big as Audi SUVs could go? Well you’re wrong, as Audi chose Detroit to show a concept of its new SUV range-topper – the Audi Q8 SUV.

Like the BMW X6 is to the X5, you’re best thinking of the Q8 as a sportier Q7. However the Q8 also shows a new, more extreme version of the current Audi design language with that imposing, gaping grille and large air intakes.

Other interesting features of the Q8’s design include the lower, sportier roofline, frameless doors and tapered rear end. Inside, the Q8 boasts the biggest version of Audi’s clever Virtual Cockpit instruments with a 12.3 inch screen.

After a recent chat with an Audi spokesman, we understand Ingolstadt has given the Q8 the green light for production in 2018 and it could come with the petrol/hybrid drivetrain of this concept.
