ALPHABET has been awarded best green fleet award along with mobility services award at the third International Auto Finance Network (IAFN) conference.

Alphabet won the green fleet category for its AlphaElectric product, which has helped customers integrate electric vehicles into fleets. The judges said that AlphaElectric had provided client solutions to make the transition run as smoothly as possible.

The company was described as being “head and shoulders” above the competition in a unanimous decision by the judges.

Alphabet also won the mobility services award, with the IAFN awards  judges deeming the AlphaCity car sharing solution as “practical, workable and cost effective”. The judges said the scheme has lowered emissions, reduced customer costs and helped improve the experience for company vehicle drivers.

Richard Schooling, ceo of Alphabet, was also chosen as IAFN ceo of the year and praised for taking Alphabet from strength to strength in 2014 with a record year resulting in a fleet of over 131,000 cars and vans.

Twelve awards were given in total to celebrate industry excellence in different areas of automotive services and products.

The IAFN awards recognise individuals and organisations who have worked hard to deliver sustainable business improvement with innovative approaches and foresight. Seventeen committee judges selected a winner and a runner up in each category using independently verified procedures to shortlist each candidate. Tarun Mistry, leading partner at Grant Thornton’s leasing, asset and consumer finance sector team, chaired the final decisions.
