Clive Buhagiar, Alphabet’s head of public sector, doing his bit for reducing public sector spend

I WAS talking to Clive Buhagiar earlier today. He was very chipper and update about some of the work he’s been doing with Alphabet.

Alphabet is one of the big three contract hire companies, and Clive is head of the public sector division at Alphabet.

I knew Clive from his time at Lombard Vehicle Management so it was good to catch up.

Clive was telling me that his department has just secured three major contracts with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Kent County Council and Suffolk County Council.

Well done to Clive and his Alphabet team.

But what I thought was interesting was the mix of vehicles. Public services want to cut costs, obviously, so it’s interesting that 40 Hyundai i30 Estates have been delivered to Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

No doubt new Hyundai fleet boss Martin Wilson will be pleased!

Also Kent County Council has received 12 Mitsubishi Outlanders to use as pool cars.

Both are obviously worth a look for SME fleets wanting to save on costs.

“We work closely with our customers to provide the best possible mix of flexible transport solutions,” says Clive.

Indeed. And save costs – a case of public spirited service then!
