FLEET insurer Allianz Commercial is offering Lightfoot’s risk management tool to commercial vehicle insurance customers at a discount to improve fleet driver safety and efficiency.

Lightfoot benefits:

  • Decrease in the rate of accidents
  • Reduced fuel costs
  • Minimal data analysis required to deliver results
  • Reduced fleet maintenance costs
  • Duty of Care solution
  • Vehicle tracking and telemetry as required

Lightfoot’s small in-cab device can be fitted to any vehicle’s dashboard to give drivers real-time audio and visual feedback and coaching. The product can improve driving in real-time in the vehicle, rather than retrospectively after wading through data analysis.

Lightfoot lets the driver modify their driving as they go rather than getting a rocket from the boss a week later when the data arrives.  Only if they ignore multiple warning prompts in the cab will an alert be sent to a chosen representative/manager in their weekly report.

This approach has been proven to reduce ‘at fault’ accidents by up to 50% and fuel consumption by up to 20%. An additional advantage is the simplicity of reporting, with data shown in an easy to interpret one-page table, configured to a client’s requirements.

Jonathan Dye, head of motor insurance at Allianz Commercial, said: “Our partnership with Lightfoot demonstrates our commitment to using new technologies to help our customers improve driver safety and reduce their operating costs.

“Running a safe and cost-effective fleet is crucial to maintaining a profitable business, which is why more and more companies are investing in risk management initiatives such as Lightfoot to help manage their fleets.”

Lightfoot director Martin Kadhim said: “Lightfoot takes a radically different approach to traditional telematics by empowering the driver to change their own behaviour.

“Real-time, all-of-the-time, coaching generates consistent and lasting improvements that not only enhance driver competency, but cut fuel bills, accidents, wear and tear, CO2 emissions and the volume of data that fleet managers have to contend with – a win, win situation for all involved.”
