ALLAN Cairns has been appointed chief executive officer at Hyperdrive Innovation, a technology developer and manufacturer.

An engineering professional and successful entrepreneur, Allan joins Hyperdrive with 30 years of experience, having worked in senior positions with high profile companies in the energy industry.

In 2007, he co-founded Fabricom Offshore Services which provides fully integrated consultancy and management services for engineering, procurement and construction.

On his appointment Allan commented: “Having initially joined Hyperdrive as non-executive chairman last year, I have been struck by the potential of the business with a premium, universal product offer and high-profile customers already on board.

“We are first and foremost a technology company and are carefully making the transition to becoming a volume manufacturer. As CEO, I look forward to working day to day with the management team to deliver sustainable business growth.”

Taking over from Allan as non-executive chairman is Andrew Lapping, a founding partner of Hamilton Capital Partners.
