all does not go strictly according to plan

Good job Mrs Ralph has a strong right arm

”Are you absolutely sure this will work?” she whimpered as I thrust the crank handle into her petite and somewhat frozen hands.

”Just do as I say woman, and we’ll soon be on our way.”

I liked ordering her around under the pretext of work, as it made a nice change. I made a mental note that all days should be as good as this and then tried to turn the engine over before she told me off again. Life on the open road doing this blogging m’larkey wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

After half an hour of vigorous cranking, the engine spluttered into life and we were soon screaming down the country lanes with Mrs Ralph laid out on the back seat (which I have to say quite objectively is luxuriously appointed and yet another feather in the cap of those expert and caring folk at Audi).

Bless, it had been a tiring day for her and I suppose all that excitement had made her quite giddy and light-headed.
