Alfa MiTo hatch goes on sale

The new Alfa Romeo MiTo three-door hatch has gone on sale.

It is the first sporty compact since the brilliant, but rust-prone AlfaSud of the seventies.

There are three high specification MiTo models: Turismo; Lusso; and Veloce

Standard specification on all MiTo models includes: electronic hand brake; anti-lock brake and anti-skid technology; LED rear lamps; air conditioning; and DNA chassis/engine set up technology.

Prices start at L10,745 for the entry level 1.4 16V Alfa MiTo Turismo. The top of the range MiTo is L14,745 for the 1.4 TB 155bhp Veloce.

The Alfa MiTo range will have a choice of five engines: three petrol units; and two diesels.

  • 1.4 16V 95bhp, 47.9mpg, 138g/km CO2
  • 1.4 TB 120bhp Turbopetrol, 46.3mpg, 145g/km CO2
  • 1.4 TB 155bhp Turbopetrol, 43.5mpg, 153g/km CO2
  • 1.3 JTDM 90bhp diesel, 62.8mpg, 119g/km CO2
  • 1.6 JTDM 120bhp diesel, 58.9mpg, 126g/km CO2
