THERE was an ACFO hat-trick for Marshall Leasing as the vehicle contract hire and fleet management specialist with more than 6,000 company cars and vans on its books won the 2016 Fleet Service Company of the Year title it previously collected in 2013 and 2010.

This year the cleaner face of modern fleets is highlighted in the ACFO Awards as green cars dominate with plug-in cars taking three of the seven 2016 titles and Tesla making its debut with a double.

Tesla’s role as a supplier of company cars was recognised with its first ACFO awards, winning the Environmental Initiative of the Year and with its all-electric Model S sharing the Green Vehicle of the Year title with the plug-in BMW i3, which kept the trophy it’s won for the past two years.

Further emphasising the emergence of ‘green’ power in fleet operations, BMW was highly commended in the Environmental Initiative of the Year and the Mercedes-Benz C Class Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle was similarly recognised in the Fleet Car of the Year category.

However, it was not all change as the Jaguar XE retained the Fleet Car of the Year title won last year, with the BMW 3 Series highly commended.

The other winners were safety charity Brake for the Fleet Safety Initiative of the Year; Volkswagen Caddy for Small Van of the Year, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for Large Van.
