MY landlord, Peter Edney, came striding through into my office the other day to deliver a speech on the preposterous nature of governmental spending.
He had just seen the results of the Sir Philip Green report into governmental spending in the newspaper that morning.
“For goodness sake, there’s a 78% difference on the price of printer cartridges!” fumed Peter at the needless waste identified in the Green report.
“They wouldn’t spend the extra if it was their own money. That’s the problem. There’s no sense of responsibility – it’s someone else’s money.”
