HERE’S a smart inititiative – so smart it’s just won an award. Called Parkatmyhouse – you can find it at www.parkatmyhouse.co.uk – it’s an online marketplace which connects property owners with a spare parking space to drivers in need of somewhere to park.

It is brilliantly simply and I guess works at its best around cities and some of the key airports hubs where parking is at a premium.

In fact, so brilliantly simple, it’s just won the top accolade in the Smarta 100, which recognises smart businesses that are thriving in the current economic climate.

Parkatmyhouse was founded in 2006 by 23-year old Anthony Eskinazi. it now has thousands of members throughout the UK who use the instant online facility to book a property-owner’s driveway, garage or car park space on a one-off or regular, short-term or long-term basis.
