THE 2017 Vauxhall Crossland X – never heard of it before? No surprise there. It’s brand new from Vauxhall and is set to offer business users a compact SUV choice for mainly urban use.

As more and more business drivers look to choose an SUV, the Crossland X will offer all those SUV benefits you expect:

Roomy cabin with panoramic sunroof
  • Elevated seating position
  • Spacious interior
  • Practical and flexible inside
  • And being a Vauxhall, it’s likely to be keen on running costs and CO2 emissions – although we have no details of that yet.
  • And Vauxhall’s OnStar system

So where does the new Vauxhall Crossland X fit in your company car choice list?

Vauxhall says the Crossland X is a compact SUV with rivals including the Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008.

In the Vauxhall stable it sits alongside the recently announced Mokka X, which has more of the 4×4 go anywhere ability about it, with both two wheel-drive and four-wheel drive options.

Later on, we’ll get a bigger Vauxhall SUV in the shape of the Grandland X as Vauxhall grows its SUV X range family.

But if the Mokka X is more about all-road ability, the Crossland X is more about family friendly practicality in a compact shape.

It measures 4.21 metres in length – making it more compact than the Mokka X, and a full 16cm shorter than the Astra Hatch, but with an overall height that is 10 centimetres above the Astra – for that commanding view of the road ahead.

The Crossland X has sliding rear seats that can either increase or decrease rear leg room or boot space – depending on what your requirement is. Of particular note for business drivers is ergonomically certified seats, so company car drivers facing long drives should step out fresh and relaxed  at the end of their journey.

No word yet on engines or CO2 emissions, although no doubt further details will be announced at the early spring Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

Vauxhall Crossland X features

The new Crossland X will provide drivers with  latest technology and driver assistance systems. These include:

  • Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) with full-LED headlamps
