Only a year since Honda transformed the Civic’s company car credentials with the excellent new diesel and here it is with a sportier, more up-market air about it.

Super-low company car tax and a 100% first year write-down allowance seal the Honda Civic’s business car credentials and the improvements for 2014 keep it as a firm favourite

Business Car Manager verdict

The Honda Civic is a seriously capable family hatch that makes plenty of sense as a company car when paired up with this 1.6 i-DTEC engine.

For drivers, it sits in a low 13% company car tax band and for business car managers it qualifies for 100% FYA.

It does all that at a price that’s cheaper than Volkswagen’s Golf Bluemotion, too.

We wouldn’t necessarily say the Civic is at the top of its class for handling, or for comfort or quality but it does have a very rounded set of skills and figures that make it a very appealing business car proposition.
